(Viola x wittrockiana)
Good for bees!
Pansies are a great way to get color and fragrance in the cooler, early spring months with vibrant color options including pink, orange, maroon, yellow, blue & purple. Consider planting these near spring bulbs for a full blooming look early in the season. Faded / dead flowers should be removed to promote more blooms. Good for bees! These early flowers provide pollen to bees when they first emerge from the hives in spring.
Full sun during spring & fall seasons. Part shade during the hotter summer season.
Water thoroughly when the top 2 inches of soil are dry to the touch (finger test!)
Quality potting mix for containers. Mix compost into soil if planting in garden bed (recommended 6” to 8” apart.)
Add liquid fertilizer every 3rd watering, during growing seasons.
